You must be thinking about the fact that what does the voice-over client look for?

There can be diverse reasons for hiring the voice-over talent. Clients can hire Voice-over artists for any industry, country, and language. They have various requirements like a record for e-learning, radio, explainer videos, narration, audiobooks, translations, etc.

I have been serving this industry for more than 5 years and have worked with almost all types of clients. Some are from the education industry while some belong to the entertainment. Some are looking for the English language while others for serving the audience speaking Gujarati, Marathi, and Hindi.

• Message- Some clients have the “message” of the voice – as their main moto of the project. For them, quality matters the most. They want creative and innovative ideas to make their project the best and out of the box. These generally do not go for freelancers but would rather deal for more than a year to have consistency and that “voice” as their brandmark. I have the majority of projects and clients with this trait.
• Economical- Many clients focus more on money and time than any other aspect. There is no scope for sacrificing the quality from my side, but I would mold myself according to their conditions like serving before 24 hours. Sometimes a lot of clients come with a deal at very low prices which is very unfair. In spite of going against them and saying a “NO”, it is my responsibility to make them understand the trends in the industry. And I have more than 100 examples where my client was overwhelmed after getting the final product.
• Support- This is the other category of voice-over clients. They want to work with convenience by hiring online or outsourcing all the work from writing script to delivering the final recording. But here is a thing – the clients that hire voice-over artists with some agency miss out on explaining directly that what they want. The best option is to invest your time and hire by explaining your specifications directly to the artist.
